AYSO Area 10Q Tournament Canceled - Our Region 190 Response

Dear AYSO 180 Players, Parents & Guardians, and biggest fans!

We are writing to share our most sincere apology for the last-minute cancellation of the Area 10Q Tournament.

We know how disappointing and frustrating this news is, especially for our players who have trained, practiced, and looked forward to competing. Many of you rearranged weekend plans and committed time, travel, and enthusiasm to support your teams, and we deeply regret that you were not given the rewarding experience you earned.

We were informed with very short notice that Area leadership was unable to secure tournament field space. Unfortunately, that meant the event could not proceed. While these circumstances were outside of our Region’s control, we understand that this explanation does not lessen the impact on our teams, families, and volunteers. The cancellation should never have happened with this little notice, and the disappointment it caused is unacceptable to us.

We want to focus on accountability, improvement, and our continued commitment to our community. We owe it to our players and families to ensure better planning, clearer communication, and stronger protections against similar failures in the future. We will continue to work diligently to do achieve better outcomes in the future.

AYSO Region 180 exists to serve the youth of Santa Ynez Valley. We are proud of our players, grateful for our community, and inspired by our volunteers and coaches. Our mission remains unchanged: providing accessible, well-organized, community-centered soccer opportunities for every child who wants to play. We intend to learn from this experience and grow stronger because of it.

Thank you for the support and understanding shown by so many of you, and thank you for trusting us to continue serving this community for which we all care so deeply.
